Wanderlust Among Best Places to Work

Agency Recognized for 2010 by Business Review

November 2, 2010 —

Troy-based destination branding agency Wanderlust was announced as one of the Best Places to Work in the Capital Region by the Business Review. Wanderlust achieved the recognition for creating a positive work environment that attracts and retains employees through a combination of benefits, working conditions and company culture. The top companies will be profiled in a special supplement of The Business Review issued on December 3 and will be honored at a celebration at the Crowne Plaza in Albany.

“We’re very excited about this recognition,” said Mark D. Shipley, President and Chief Strategic Officer for Wanderlust. “This company was built on the skills, talent and professionalism of our team. We’re passionate about doing great work, and it shows – in our company culture, our day to day activities and in the results we achieve for our clients.

“Loving what you do – and doing it extremely well – is deeply satisfying,” Shipley adds. “We knew our employees were great at what they do. We’re proud that they also love what we do for our clients, and we're happy that they helped us earn this honor.”

The Business Review sponsors the Best Places to Work program each year. Companies are evaluated on an objective 40-question survey completed by employees of participating organizations. Employees scored their companies on a six-point scale, with questions designed to quantify workplace satisfaction factors such as team effectiveness, alignment with company goals, trust, manager effectiveness and engagement. The results were compiled and analyzed by The Business Review’s research partner, Quantum Market Research.

“Employees are proud to work for companies that are about more than business,” said Mike Hendricks, Business Review editor. “And the results show how creating the right work environment can create powerful business advantages.”

“The best places to work are companies that recognize employees as their best asset, instrumental in maintaining the quality and reputation for services and products,” said Business Review publisher Carolyn Jones. “It’s a smart – and winning – business strategy.”
