Howe Caverns 2.0New York's #2 natural attraction's new website goes live
BackNovember 18, 2008 — Troy, NY – As part of the rebranding of Howe Caverns, destination branding and tourism marketing firm Wanderlust has launched a Web 2.0 site to help market the popular Northeast attraction. In addition to the new look and feel of the brand, the new tourism branding website incorporates some of the latest online marketing tools, including a standards compliant content management system, content development and search engine optimization strategies, widgets designed to enhance conversion rates, the ability to serve and distribute text, images, audio and video, advanced email marketing, proprietary tracking and analytics capabilities, and social media tools.
As Howe Caverns approaches its 80th anniversary of reopening to the public in 1929, visitors can follow all the latest news from Schoharie County’s landmark attraction in the expanded News Features and Events sections. The site’s Web 2.0 compliant infrastructure maximizes the potential for the web. It was created and composed with a content strategy that appeals to potential visitors and Google alike. As work continues to expand the caverns’ tour by an additional 150 feet, updated information about the work in progress is available on the new site. Social media bookmarking tools will help build inbound links to this relevant, frequently updated content.
“Howe Caverns now has one of the most advanced websites within their competitive set,” said Mark Shipley, President and Chief Strategic Officer at Wanderlust. ”Howe Caverns is a truly fascinating attraction for all ages. This new website will help them achieve high rankings in Google, inspire those who click through to explore all of the cool things that Howe Caverns has to offer, and ultimately drive foot traffic to this incredible destination.”
